Prosus further reduces stake in Delivery Hero Hong Kong hedge fund Aspex invests nearly 3.1 billion to acquire shares
Delivery Hero and Tencent Holdings (00700) major shareholder Prosus NV said it reduced its stake in Delivery Hero by 5%, transferring it to Hong Kong hedge fund Aspex Investment (Aspex).
Prosus said it sold approximately 15.1883 million shares of Delivery Hero at €22 per share, raising about €3.35 billion (approximately HK$3.08 billion). The deal price represented about a 10% premium over Delivery Hero’s closing price of €19.99 last Friday.
The stake will increase to approximately 15%
According to reports, after Prosus reduced its stake in Delivery Hero, its holdings fell to 16.8%, while Aspex’s stake will rise to about 15%.
Prosus must significantly cut its stake of approximately 27.4% to below 10% before the summer of this year to eliminate concerns over antitrust issues related to its acquisition of Just Eat Takeaway.com NV. The company sold 4.5% of Delivery Hero to Uber in April at €20 per share, involving 13.582 million shares, for about €270 million.
