#山寨币资金回流 #Gate广场五月交易分享 Has the copycat season arrived? How to respond, four practical suggestions

1. Impressive gains, but reasons vary
This round of rise is not a uniform "broad rally," but driven by different fundamental catalysts.
Regarding SOL, the spot ETF officially launched in October 2025, Western Union and JPMorgan have successively chosen Solana as the settlement layer for stablecoins; Pumpfun's monthly fees reached $70 million, on-chain ecosystem activity fully rebounded, TPS back above 3000.
SUI, after the DeepBook prediction market platform Predict launched on May 9, the associated token DEEP's daily trading volume surged 976%, attracting a large influx of speculative funds into the ecosystem. Coupled with the fact that the spot SUI ETF by 21Shares was listed on Nasdaq in February, the institutional entry points are gradually improving.
AAVE benefited from the "Aave Will Win (AWW)" framework approved in April—protocols' total product revenue all flows into the DAO treasury—and launched V4 in March. The institutional RWA lending platform Horizon's net deposits approached $550 million, significantly strengthening the value capture logic.
2. Copycat season index: initial signals, but not confirmed
The key indicators for judging whether it's copycat season are the "Copycat Season Index" and "Bitcoin Dominance." Current data shows:
Data honestly tells us: this is a narrative-driven selective rotation, not the full-scale broad rally of 2021. A Bitcoin dominance above 60% indicates institutional funds still hold Bitcoin as the core position, and the Copycat Season Index of 35 is far below the 75 confirmation threshold. But historical data shows that after Bitcoin dominance peaks, rotation into altcoins often begins within 1-2 quarters, which is a window worth watching.
3. Position in the cycle: warm-up stage
4. How retail investors should respond? Four practical suggestions
1 Focus on narratives with fundamentals
Prioritize projects with real revenue, institutional cooperation, or ETF entry (such as SOL, AAVE), rather than purely speculative targets. Narrative rotation is fast; chasing hot topics is less effective than choosing industry leaders.
2 Light positions for testing, control overall exposure
Before the Copycat Season Index exceeds 75, it is recommended that altcoin positions do not exceed 30% of the total crypto portfolio. Use small units to enter, leaving room for more confident signals.
3 Watch Bitcoin dominance changes
A drop in Bitcoin dominance from 60% below 58% is an initial signal that funds are starting to rotate into altcoins; falling below 50% may indicate the start of a full-scale copycat season.
4 Set stop-loss and take-profit levels in advance
Copycat seasons often come quickly and go quickly. Set partial profit targets before entry (e.g., take half at a 30% rise) and clear stop-loss levels to avoid emotional trading.
Position allocation suggestion: Core positions (ETH/SOL/AAVE) totaling 60-70% of the altcoin holdings; satellite positions (SUI/PENDLE/HYPE) account for 30-40%. Currently, the Copycat Season Index is only 35, so overall altcoin positions should not exceed 30-40% of total crypto assets, keeping a BTC core holding to hedge overall market risk.
All price targets are based on public forecasts and do not constitute investment advice. Please assess your risk tolerance before entering.
