$UB 1. There are “supporting orders” on the order book—fewer sellers
In the screenshot, there’s a tiny price spread between “Buy 1” and “Sell 1,” which shows that both buy and sell limit orders are still sitting there. The price is being held around 0.13080-0.13084—most likely because some limit buy orders placed below are supporting the stack. With a positive 24-hour price increase (+7-8%), short-term sentiment is skewed bullish, holders are reluctant to sell, and sell pressure is low. If nobody is dumping, the price naturally won’t fall.
2. The main players may be “maintaining” the price (wash trading)
Look closely at the trade history in the screenshot—there are many small orders of 22.00. This looks like programs are churning volume. This kind of “left hand sells to right hand” wash trading uses extremely small costs to create the illusion that the price is stable and that trades are still happening, maintaining the K-line/candlestick shape and luring retail traders to follow. This is very common in small-cap coins.
3. Liquidity is drying up—small orders can control the market
The 24-hour trading value is about 4.31 million USDT. For perpetual contracts, liquidity is indeed poor. In this kind of market, a buy order of just a few thousand USDT can instantly pull the price higher; conversely, it can also be used to smash a dip. The price is steady right now, which suggests that for the moment there are no large players dumping. Meanwhile, a small amount of wash-trading from market makers is enough to keep the price parked in the current range.
The most worrying signals
After a low-volume sideways move, the real risk is this: once this fragile balance is broken (for example, suddenly a large sell order appears), if there isn’t enough thick buy support below, the price is likely to drop through the bottom in an instant. This is not a state you can comfortably hold.
Want to see how many orders are sitting below to catch the fall? You can tap the “Order Book” in the screenshot. If the buy side is sparse, then this price is just wishful thinking.
