Responds to Iran Proposal, Trump: I Don't Like It, It's Unacceptable
Donald Trump expressed his dislike for the response to the negotiation proposal and the 10-point message submitted by Iran, stating that the demands are completely unacceptable. According to a report by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) on Sunday (May 10) local time, Trump voiced his disapproval after reviewing the draft from the Iranian representatives. This stance reinforces Trump's aggressive position, accusing Iran of playing with the United States for decades.
In the 10-point message, Iran emphasizes a vision for a new regional order free from foreign influence and describes the presence of U.S. military forces as the main source of instability in the region. The points highlight the importance of controlling the Strait of Hormuz for regional security and urge the lifting of OFAC sanctions related to oil sales within a 30-day period to boost regional economic prosperity. These series of demands once again signal further diplomatic deadlock due to sharp differences in views on security authority in the Gulf region.
On Monday morning (May 11), Bitcoin prices were observed to have corrected back to the $80,000 area in response to Trump’s strong rejection.
