France Initiates NATO Exercises In Greenland
(MENAFN- UkrinForm) The Elysee Palace reported this on Wednesday, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.
“France is requesting that NATO exercises be held in Greenland and is ready to make its contribution,” the French presidency announced.
Sources at the Elysee Palace believe that official NATO exercises would allow the United States to take part and would demonstrate that Europeans take Arctic security seriously.

It is worth recalling that earlier several European countries, including France, Germany, and the United Kingdom, had already sent military personnel to the territory for a reconnaissance mission as part of preparations for Danish exercises organized together with NATO allies, but without the United States.
This angered US President Donald Trump, who threatened the countries participating in these maneuvers with the introduction of new additional tariffs of up to 25%.
As reported, the day before US President Donald Trump stated that NATO’s strength depends on how much the United States allows it to.
