Arkham on-chain data shows that a Bitcoin whale address transferred 500 BTC at around 15:16 Eastern Time on Sunday after being dormant for 12 years. The transfer is worth approximately $40.6 million. The sending address is “1KAA8…d882j,” and the receiving address is “bc1qm…hjrxy.” This BTC has been stored at the original address since November 27, 2013, when it was worth about $457,070. Over the 12 years, it has increased in value by approximately 89 times. The reason for the transfer is still unclear, but transfers like this often happen before the holder sells tokens to realize profits. (The Block)
