According to reports compiled by Jin 10 Data, the U.S. military launched an attack on six Iranian civilian vessels in the Strait of Hormuz on May 10. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran warned that any further violations of Iranian ships would trigger a "strong response." Iranian officials also reminded not to close the maritime passage of the strait; meanwhile, a military source stated that although the current tension in the Persian Gulf has eased, conflict could reignite if the U.S. continues to cause trouble for Iranian ships.
