I realize that my tolerance for unrealized losses is really much worse than for unrealized gains… When I make a profit, I think “Hmm, not bad,” but when I’m losing, my mind automatically starts to amplify: Will it keep falling? Did I overlook some permission? Is there an issue with the recent transaction I signed? Basically, unrealized losses are more like “the door isn’t locked properly,” even when I’m lying down, I still want to get up and check the handle again.
Recently, every time I see news about cross-chain bridges being hacked, my stomach tightens. Even if I’m not involved with that chain, I subconsciously check the authorization list and reduce the limits for rarely used permissions. And during the oracle error wave, everyone is “waiting for confirmation,” which is actually a form of self-comfort: don’t act yet, don’t let yourself make another mistake.
Staring at the screen for a long time makes my eyes ache terribly, but the most exhausting part isn’t the eyes; it’s the mental noise of “I can’t sleep if I’m losing…” Anyway, my current solution is to watch fewer minute charts, do more permission revocations and position splitting, at least allowing myself to truly close the door and sleep.
