Recently, someone has been watching large on-chain transfers and hot/cold wallet movements on exchanges and shouting "Smart money is coming" whenever there's activity. I almost followed along and jumped in, but then I thought it was pretty funny... My ice cream position really melts at the first sign of the sun.
By the way, let’s review cross-chain stuff: transferring from A to B, honestly, you trust not just the bridge itself. You have to trust that the source chain is fine, that the consensus/validators on the other side aren’t messing around; that the message passing in the middle isn’t forged or replayed; that the destination chain verifies messages according to the same rules; and also that the bridge’s contracts/multisigs/oracles, these "gatekeepers," aren’t hacked. IBC is relatively like writing the rules in stone so both sides can verify themselves, but you still have to trust that both chains are operating normally. Anyway, whenever I see "cross-chain bullishness," I get eager to jump in first, but in the end, I still pull back a bit, afraid of stepping into a trap.
