The sulfur price has increased by approximately 80% this year, with downstream titanium dioxide and phosphate fertilizer companies taking multiple measures to control costs.

Reporters have learned that sulfur has been continuously increasing in price this year, with the quote on May 8 rising to 6,867 yuan/ton, an approximately 80% increase since the beginning of the year, and some spot transactions even breaking through 8,000 yuan/ton. Faced with sharply rising costs, downstream titanium dioxide and phosphate fertilizer companies are taking multiple measures to control costs, such as strengthening low-price reserves, negotiating for stable-priced sulfur upstream, and purchasing iron pyrite to produce sulfuric acid themselves. These measures aim to reduce costs and seek a competitive advantage. (Cailian Press)
