Hungary's new parliament holds its first meeting

Hungarian President Sulyok announced on the 9th local time in Budapest that the newly elected Hungarian Parliament has begun its first meeting. According to the agenda, the session will include ceremonies such as the swearing-in of members of parliament, and will elect a new Speaker of Parliament and Prime Minister. The preliminary vote count released by Hungary’s National Election Office on the evening of the 12th showed that the Tisza Party led by Péter Magyar won the parliamentary election held that day, winning 141 seats out of 199 in the parliament. The alliance of the Civic Democrats and the Christian Democrats won 52 seats, and the far-right party “Our Homeland Movement” won 6 seats. (CCTV News)
