London Economic and Trade Office Case | UK Foreign Office Summons Chinese Ambassador to the UK

After the UK Foreign Office summoned Chinese Ambassador Zheng Zeguang, the UK court ruled that Yuan Songbiao, the Administrative Manager of the Economic and Trade Office of the HKSAR Government in London, and Wei Zhi-liang, a former UK border officer, were guilty of assisting a foreign intelligence agency.

The UK Foreign Office stated clearly that it will not tolerate any attempts by foreign governments to intimidate, harass, or harm individuals or communities within the UK. The spokesperson added that the conduct seriously violates UK sovereignty, and that the authorities will continue to use all available means to safeguard UK security and hold China accountable for actions that undermine UK security and democratic values.
