Today I saw another screenshot of that on-chain “whale making a large transfer in/out,” and the chat immediately started shouting for copy trades. I’ve learned a bit to be smarter: first ask yourself one question—does this really look like building a position, or is it hedging, shifting funds between wallets, or just padding the books… In plain terms, you only see one leg of the move—you don’t see the other side. If you jump in, it might just mean you’re helping top up liquidity for someone else.

Lately, social mining and fan tokens have also been pretty hot. Everyone’s fighting for attention as if they’re doing the mining, but I’m starting to suspect this is a false premise: you think you’re mining, but you’re actually the one getting picked off—being harvested. Anyway, I’m no longer chasing explanations. I accept randomness. What I can do is resist the impulse to “just click confirm” and add a bit more self-deprecating note-taking.
