Deep Tide TechFlow News, May 10 — During a speech, SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce stated that she does not endorse some of the speculative phenomena in the current market, and that financial products that stimulate short-term wealth hopes like lotteries may fade as investors lose interest. Galaxy Digital Research Director Alex Thorn reposted, saying that Peirce expects that the underlying legal, technical, and market infrastructure of these products could be repurposed in the future for more sustainable investment and risk management products. Meanwhile, Nate Geraci, President of The ETF Store, commented that the SEC’s balanced approach to regulation and innovation is reassuring, and he speculates that the compliance-controversial products Peirce described are actually “prediction market ETFs,” which are expected to be approved for listing soon.
