Odaily Planet Daily News: Seven major Bitcoin mining pools, including AntPool, Foundry, F2Pool, SpiderPool, DMND, MARA Foundation, and Block Inc, have joined the Stratum V2 working group to jointly develop an industry-facing open mining pool communication protocol standard.

Public data shows that Foundry currently controls about 30% of the global Bitcoin mining pool hash rate, with AntPool accounting for approximately 17.7%. Stratum V2 states that establishing an open standard not controlled by a single mining pool helps enhance miners’ flexibility in choosing block templates and improves the current increasingly centralized Bitcoin mining industry.

In addition, CoinWarz predicts that Bitcoin mining difficulty will increase again in mid-May, while CoinShares points out that, under the current market and energy cost environment, about 20% of miners are already unprofitable. (Cointelegraph)
