Hu Yongqiu
This newspaper Beijing, May 9th (Reporter Liu Zhiqiang, Wang Zheng)
Reporter learned from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology:
In the first quarter of this year, our country’s shipbuilding completion volume was 15.68 million deadweight tons,
a year-on-year increase of 46.0%, accounting for 57.3% of the world’s total;
new orders received were 59.53 million deadweight tons,
a year-on-year increase of 195.2%, accounting for 84.9% of the world’s total;
as of the end of March, the backlog of orders was 322.30 million deadweight tons,
a year-on-year increase of 43.6%, accounting for 69.8% of the world’s total.
Our country’s three major shipbuilding indicators are growing comprehensively,
and the international market share remains the global leader.
Since the beginning of this year, our country’s shipbuilding industry has made a series of progress in technological innovation and production management.
On April 28th, the world’s first 10,800-car liquefied natural gas (LNG) dual-fuel powered car carrier, built by China State Shipbuilding Corporation Guangship International, was named and delivered.
On May 8th, the world’s first 24k-container methanol dual-fuel container ship was completed and named in Nantong, Jiangsu,
marking another major breakthrough in our country’s design and construction of ultra-large clean energy ships.
