I recently set a rule for myself: when I see "on-chain data," I first assume it might be a half-second late before taking action. Nodes synchronization, RPC load, indexer data entry—if any of these get a little delayed, the balances/transactions/settlements you see could be "from the previous second." I used to get excited watching the dashboard and chase after it, only to find that the on-chain data had already changed, but I still thought everything was stable... Basically, I was fooled by the delay.

Now, when a new L1/L2 launches incentives or TVL spikes and the community starts arguing about "mining, selling," it's even more obvious: the excitement is real, but if the data dashboard refreshes slowly, your judgment will be slower, and on-chain execution costs are still waiting to catch you. Anyway, I prefer to wait for an extra confirmation, check multiple sources, and if things don’t match, I won’t act immediately. Even a robotic arm needs to calibrate before pressing down.
