The fines in Jalisco have just increased, and it's no joke. If you're caught parking in a prohibited zone, now it costs between 1,173 and 2,932 pesos depending on where and if you already have previous violations. All because the UMA was updated to 117.31 pesos since February, so the penalties were automatically adjusted. What many people didn't know is that there's a way to avoid hurting your wallet. If you pay quickly, within the first 10 business days, you'll get a 50% discount directly. That is, almost half of the amount. And if you don't do it so quickly but also don't wait too long, between days 11 and 20 after the violation, you'll still get a 25% reduction. So the moral is: don't park where you're not supposed to, but if you already messed up, move fast to pay. The good thing is that now it's easy: go to Jalisco's official vehicle services portal, enter your license plate, the last five digits of the VIN, your name, see what you owe, and pay with a card. All from your phone without leaving home. Much more convenient than waiting in line at an office. The fine for parking in a prohibited place in Jalisco is now a serious matter, so it's worth paying attention to where you leave your car.
