National Energy Administration: The total electricity consumption of society increased by 6.1% year-on-year in January-February this year
On March 17, the National Energy Administration released data on electricity consumption across society for January and February.
In January-February, the total electricity consumption across society was 1,654.6 billion kWh, an increase of 6.1% year-on-year.
Looking at electricity use by industry, the primary industry used 22.3 billion kWh, a 7.4% increase year-on-year.
The secondary industry used 1.03T kWh, a 6.3% increase year-on-year, including: industrial electricity consumption increased by 6.4%, and high-tech and equipment manufacturing industries’ electricity use increased by 10.6%.
The tertiary industry used 323.1B kWh, an 8.3% increase year-on-year, including: charging and swapping services and internet data services saw electricity use grow by 55.1% and 46.2%, respectively.
Urban and rural residents’ electricity consumption was 281.3B kWh, a 2.7% increase year-on-year.
