Nobitex Stays Off OFAC's SDN List Despite Iran Sanctions Scrutiny
Nobitex remains off OFAC’s SDN List even as investigators linked about $5 billion in observed flows and about 11 million users to Iran’s biggest crypto exchange. Elliptic said Iran’s central bank bought at least $507 million in USDT through a UAE broker and sent the assets primarily to Nobitex. OFAC also clarified that Iranian digital asset exchanges are already considered blocked financial institutions even without individual SDN naming.
