Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing: IPO fundraising amount in the first four months was HKD 151.4 billion, up 604% year-on-year

Golden Finance reports that on May 9th, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing data shows that the total market capitalization of the securities market was HKD 48.0 trillion at the end of April 2026, an increase of 24% year-on-year. The average daily trading volume in April 2026 was HKD 253.5 billion. The average daily trading volume for the first four months of 2026 was HKD 271.1 billion, up 8% year-on-year. The average daily trading volume of exchange-traded funds (ETFs) for the first four months of 2026 was HKD 39.1 billion, an increase of 5% year-on-year. There were 49 newly listed companies in the first four months of 2026, a 158% increase compared to 19 in the same period last year. The total funds raised through initial public offerings (IPOs) in the first four months of 2026 amounted to HKD 151.4 billion, a 604% increase year-on-year.
