(MENAFN) The US Treasury Department revised its sanctions list on Friday, removing a vessel connected to Russian interests while simultaneously broadening restrictions on a Mexican resort allegedly associated with a drug cartel.

The Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) removed the Astra from its sanctions list. The Astra, a chemical and oil tanker flagged in Vietnam, had previously been sanctioned under executive orders related to Russia and was reportedly connected to Sao Viet Petrol Transportation Company Limited. No reason was provided for its removal.

In a separate action, OFAC introduced three additional aliases for Kovay Gardens, a short-term lodging property located in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, Nayarit, Mexico. The site is now also recognized under the names Marina Oasis Beachfront Resort, Navira Villas & Residences, and Vallarta Gardens.

The property continues to be allegedly associated with the Cartel de Jalisco Nueva Generacion (CJNG) under existing counter-narcotics and counter-terrorism executive orders.
