Current trend: Last night (May 8), BTC briefly fell below $80,000 due to profit-taking, with a low of $78,900, then quickly rebounded as buying pressure entered, forming a V-shaped reversal, regaining above $80,000, with an intraday high of $80,427.
Data shows that on May 4, profit-taking reached 14,600 BTC in a single day, the highest level since December 2025, and this correction led to approximately $331 million in positions being liquidated across the network.
Future outlook: The current price is repeatedly oscillating around the psychological level of $80,000. The 2.23% weekly gain is the best since mid-April, RSI is in the neutral zone, neither overbought nor oversold, with no clear advantage for bulls or bears.
XWIN Research Japan points out that large holder deposit activity remains relatively moderate, and this decline is more like a leverage-driven correction rather than a confirmation of a market top. If the price can effectively break through $82,000 and turn it into support, there is potential to recover toward the $90,000 range; if it falls back below $80,000, the correction pressure will intensify.
