Just been watching silver and honestly, it's looking pretty weak right now. XAG/USD is stuck below $74 and I don't see it breaking out anytime soon. The real issue? Everyone's just waiting on the Fed interest rate decision to see which way this goes. If they stay hawkish, silver could easily drop to $73 or lower. If they pivot dovish, we might see a bounce.

The dollar keeps getting stronger, which is killing silver right now. When the dollar rallies, silver gets more expensive for international buyers, so demand dries up. Plus, Treasury yields are staying elevated, which makes non-yielding assets like silver less attractive. It's basically a perfect storm for the white metal.

Looking at the technicals, the picture is pretty bearish. Silver's trading below both the 50-day and 200-day moving averages, which signals a downtrend. RSI is hovering around 40, so we're getting close to oversold territory, but that doesn't mean a bounce is coming anytime soon. Real support sits at $73, and if that breaks, we could see $72 next. Resistance is at $74.50 and $75.

The market sentiment is definitely leaning bearish too. Traders are positioning for more downside, and options markets show more puts than calls. The big money (commercial hedgers) is adding short positions, which tells you professionals are cautious right now.

Here's the thing though - the fed interest rate decision this week is the real wildcard. That's what's going to move the needle. If Powell signals more rate cuts ahead, silver could rally hard. If he sounds hawkish, we're probably heading lower. Until we get that clarity, I'm just watching the technicals and waiting. The gold-to-silver ratio is at 85, which historically suggests silver is undervalued, but that doesn't matter much when the fed interest rate outlook is this uncertain.

Industrial demand for silver remains solid (solar panels, green energy stuff), so there's a floor under this market long-term. But short-term? It's all about Fed policy and dollar strength. I'm staying on the sidelines until we see how this week plays out.
