Mars Finance News, on May 9, the chairman of Iran’s Parliament Energy Committee said in local time on May 9 that multiple oil fields across Iran are currently continuing to operate, and actions targeting Iranian oil tankers are “completely illegal,” but the pressure on Iran’s oil exports has not produced any obvious effect. He also said that the authorities have not yet received any reports of oil spills occurring in the waters around Khark Island. Previously, media reports cited satellite images stating that a suspected large-scale crude oil spill had appeared near Khark Island, Iran’s key oil export hub, with the affected area covering dozens of square kilometers of sea surface, prompting market concerns about Middle Eastern energy supply and maritime safety. In the past 24 hours, Trump threatened that if the current situation “does not make progress,” the United States might restart the “Freedom Plan,” and that it would be an “upgraded version.” He also said he expects to receive a formal response from Iran to the U.S. proposal. However, after returning to the White House, Trump did not respond to whether he had received Iran’s reply.
