Recommended Dust Collectors: I’ve been looking quite a bit, and recently I’ve noticed something after comparing products from various manufacturers. Cleaning up sawdust and dust particles, after all, can’t be done with a regular vacuum cleaner; you need a proper dust collector. Makita, Bosch, Karcher, and others are all available, but isn’t it hard to tell what’s different?

From actually trying them out, I’ve found that the balance between suction power and ease of use is important. Makita’s dust extractor has an 8L capacity and a suction power of 300W, and it can effectively pick up both dry and wet debris. The nozzle can stand on its own, making cleanup easier. However, it produces about 78dB of noise, so it’s better to consider using it at night. On the other hand, Bosch’s cordless model is significantly quieter at 69.5dB. For apartment living, this one is really more convenient. But its suction power is a bit lower.

Pao’s plastic tank vacuum cleaner has a 15L capacity and is compact, with accessories stored in pockets. It comes with three different heads, allowing for versatile use, and can almost completely pick up both dry and wet debris. Its noise level is 80.8dB, so it’s not bothersome during the daytime. Karcher is also strong at vacuuming liquids, capable of cleanly sucking up muddy water and such. However, it requires a dedicated paper bag, which adds to ongoing costs.

When choosing a recommended dust collector, it’s good to look at three main points: whether the suction power is high, if maintenance is easy, and if it’s not too loud. Price ranges from around 6,000 yen to over 20,000 yen, so you can select based on your needs. For DIY enthusiasts, prioritizing suction power makes sense; for apartment dwellers, quiet operation is more important. Ultimately, how you choose a recommended dust collector depends on how you plan to use it.
