Mining cryptocurrencies remains a serious business if you know what equipment to invest in. Over the past few months, the ASIC miner market has changed significantly, and I decided to put together an up-to-date overview of what really works in 2026. Not just a list, but honest opinions about each machine.

Let's start with the most powerful options for Bitcoin. The Bitmain Antminer S23 Hyd - it's just a beast. Water cooling, 580 TH/s, efficiency of 9.5 J/TH. Costs $17,400, but if you're serious, this is an investment that will pay off. Released very recently, in January of this year. For professional farms, this is arguably the most powerful miner currently available.

If your budget is smaller, look at the Antminer S21 XP Hyd - 473 TH/s, 12 J/T efficiency. Price around $10,000. Also water-cooled, a good choice for those wanting a balance between performance and cost. Or you can get the regular S21 for $4,600 - 200 TH/s, less powerful but still stable and reliable.

For Kaspa, there's a special Antminer KS5 Pro - 21 TH/s, and this is currently the most powerful miner specifically for this algorithm. Expensive - $15,000, but Kaspa is mined profitably, so many buy it. From Canaan, there's the Avalon Made A1466 - 150 TH/s, cheaper, about $1,500, a good option for beginners.

MicroBT WhatsMiner M66 - 247 TH/s, immersion cooling, $4,700. A good competitor to Antminer, but I wouldn't say it's more powerful. For Litecoin and Dogecoin, there's the Antminer L9 - a Scrypt miner, 16 GH/s, which was in shortage after its release last September.

For Monero - Antminer X5, 212 KH/s, $2,999. An interesting device with a RISC-V processor. For Ethereum Classic (if anyone still mines EtHash) - Innosilicon A10 Pro ETH, 500 MH/s, $1,900.

Overall, the choice now depends more on which cryptocurrency you want to mine. For Bitcoin, clearly the water-cooled models from Bitmain lead — they are the most powerful miners on the market today. For altcoins, specialized equipment is becoming increasingly competitive.

A key point is energy efficiency. Even the most powerful miner won't be profitable if electricity is expensive. So pay attention to J/TH or J/GH, not just hash rate.

Profitability depends on many factors: equipment cost, electricity prices, current crypto prices, network difficulty. Bitcoin can only be mined with ASICs because a regular computer simply can't handle it. For other algorithms, the situation varies, but specialized equipment will always be more efficient.

In general, if you decide to get into mining in 2026, choose equipment based on your budget and target cryptocurrency. Water-cooled models are more expensive but operate more stably and last longer. Air-cooled units are cheaper but require more attention to temperatures. And remember — mining isn't quick money; it's a long-term game of capital and knowledge.
