Lately, I’ve been stuck deciding whether to use the mainnet or L2. With the mainnet, the sense of security is definitely steadier, but once congestion hits, those gas alerts really wreck your mindset. L2 feels smooth—just a few taps and it’s done—but going back and forth feels like moving house, and sometimes you still have to wait for confirmation. In any case, there’s no perfect solution.

My current compromise is: for large transactions that I plan to leave for the long term, I’ll keep them on the mainnet as much as possible and minimize activity; for daily, frequent small actions or testing a specific protocol, I run on L2, and save the gas as a “trial-and-error fund.” I also have a small habit of bridging over a little money in advance, so I’m not stuck waiting when I need it suddenly.

Also, the community has been arguing pretty fiercely about privacy coins/mixing and the boundaries of compliance, and that’s made me more conservative. If it can be simple, keep it simple—don’t complicate the path just to save a few bucks. Sleeping well matters more. Take it slow.
