Trump: Russia and Ukraine Reach a Three-Day Ceasefire Agreement; Both Sides Exchange 1,000 Prisoners

May 9 report: U.S. President Trump posted on a social media platform that Russia and Ukraine will carry out a three-day ceasefire (May 9, 10, and 11). This ceasefire will include a suspension of all kinetic military operations, and each side will exchange 1,000 prisoners. Trump said, “This request was directly made by me, and I am very grateful for the agreement of Russian President Putin and Ukrainian President Zelensky. I hope this can be the beginning of the end of this long, deadly, and arduous war. Negotiations to end this largest-scale major conflict since World War II are still ongoing, and every day we are getting closer to our goal.”
