So I've been looking at which next crypto to hit $1 could realistically happen, and honestly there are some interesting candidates out there right now. The thing about reaching that psychological $1 barrier is it's a huge deal for investors - it just feels like a major milestone, you know?

If we're being real about it, you probably want to focus on projects that haven't already crossed $1 before, are trading above a penny to avoid the total lottery plays, and are actually in the top 500 by market cap. When you narrow it down with those filters, four names keep popping up that actually have a shot at this in 2026.

Dogecoin is the obvious one everyone talks about. It peaked near $0.74 back in 2021, so it's been tantalizingly close. Right now it's sitting at $0.11 with a market cap around $16.98 billion. For DOGE to hit $1, you're looking at roughly a 1,010% move, which would push its market cap to around $168.8 billion - that would make it the third biggest crypto after Bitcoin and Ethereum. The Bitcoin halving cycles usually spark rallies, so the timing could work out.

Then there's Kaspa, which is doing something different with its blockDAG tech instead of traditional blockchain. It hit $0.21 back in August 2024 but has pulled back to around $0.04 now. For KAS to reach $1 would require about a 2,500%+ jump and a market cap over $27 billion. It's got a solid community behind it though, which matters for momentum.

Stellar is the established player here - been around for like a decade doing cross-border payments. XLM touched $0.60+ during previous bull runs but never quite made it to $1. Currently trading around $0.16 with a $5.51 billion market cap. To hit $1 it needs roughly a 525% move. Some analysts are conservative on it reaching $1 this cycle, but the next crypto to hit $1 could easily be one of these older projects if the market really runs.

Hedera is interesting because it's enterprise-focused with real institutional backing. HBAR peaked at $0.57 in 2021 and is now at $0.09 with a $4.03 billion market cap. It would need about a 980% jump to $1. The thing with Hedera is it's got actual use cases and corporate support through its governing council, which could be a real differentiator.

Honestly though, here's the reality check: all of these depend massively on where Bitcoin goes. If the broader market tanks, none of these next crypto to hit $1 candidates will get there. They're all swimming in the same ocean, and Bitcoin is basically the tide. The interconnected nature of crypto means these individual projects don't succeed in isolation - they rise and fall with overall market sentiment and momentum. So while each of these four has legitimate potential, their success really comes down to whether we see sustained bull market conditions throughout 2026.
