I just found out that Belinda's brother, Ignacio Peregrín, tried to get into politics a few years ago. The guy ran as a candidate for deputy in 2021 for District XV in Mexico City, but he didn't do well at the polls. He lost to another candidate with just 22% of the votes.
What's interesting is that before trying his political career, Ignacio Peregrín worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs coordinating an international cooperation department. But while doing that, he also appeared as a partner in a cleaning company that supposedly had contracts with the government. Kind of strange, right? Possible conflict of interest.
Additionally, there was an issue with his CV. It claimed he had a law degree, but when they checked his professional license in the official records, nothing. Later, it turned out he was studying at a university in Veracruz. Since losing the election five years ago, Ignacio Peregrín has disappeared from the spotlight. He hasn't run again or anything. It's kind of curious how some public figures just fade away after a political failure.
