Been looking into Bitcoin mining hosting companies lately and honestly the billing model difference is wild. Most places charge you even when your miners are down, then you gotta fight for credits. But Simple Mining just charges for actual runtime - if machines are offline, you don't pay. That's just... smarter? Their Iowa setup runs on like 65% renewable too and they do repairs in-house so no shipping delays.

Obviously if you're institutional scale, Hut 8 and places like that have the infrastructure. But for anyone just getting into this, the hosting companies worth checking are Simple Mining (best overall rates around $0.07-$0.08/kWh), EZ Blockchain if you want to bring your own gear, or Bitkern if you want to play with different uptime modes. UMiners has that Ethiopia hydropower angle if you're thinking global.

The thing is most bitcoin mining hosting companies are trying to hide fees in their rates. These five at least publish what they're doing. That transparency alone saves you money over time. Anyone else comparing hosts right now or just me?
