I just checked the fine costs in Querétaro, and honestly, they are quite high this year. If you don’t get your vehicle inspected on time, you could face a fine of over 1,700 pesos for not verifying in Querétaro. That’s right, they’ve increased significantly since they updated the value of the UMA in February.

What surprised me is that it depends on how many periods you let pass. If you do the late verification in Querétaro, it ranges from 703 to almost 1,760 pesos depending on your situation. And if you also fail the test at the verification center, that’s another 125 pesos. The fine for not verifying in Querétaro accumulates if you leave more periods without completing the process.

To avoid being caught off guard: you need a valid circulation card, your ID, and if it’s a new car, also the invoice. Anyone with a private vehicle, transportation vehicle, or recently purchased car must do it. Verification is mandatory for everyone.

Honestly, it’s more worthwhile to do the process on time than to keep paying fines later. Especially with these new amounts. If someone in Querétaro still doesn’t know how much the fine for not verifying in Querétaro costs, they should find out quickly before a surprise hits them.
