So I fell down this rabbit hole about John McAfee and honestly his wife's story is just as wild as his. Everyone knows McAfee made his fortune off antivirus software back in the 80s - Intel bought the company for like $7.7 billion in 2010. But the personal side? That's where things get really messy.
He met Janice Dyson in Miami Beach around 2012, and they got married pretty quickly despite being 36+ years apart in age. She was working as a prostitute at the time, which sounds crazy, but apparently McAfee just fell for her hard. They ended up on the run together for years - tax evasion charges, extradition threats, the whole thing. I mean, this guy was facing 30 years in prison.
The thing that gets me is how Janice stuck with him through all of it. They divorced in 2019, but even after that she was defending him constantly. Then McAfee died in a Spanish prison in June 2021 - officially ruled suicide, but Janice has never bought that story. She's been fighting for years to get an independent autopsy done, posting about it constantly on social media.
What's wild is how much of John McAfee's wife's energy has gone into challenging the official narrative about his death. She points to his '$WHACKD' tattoo, his tweets about being hunted, all this stuff that makes you wonder. The guy literally said he'd never kill himself, and then suddenly he's found dead in his cell. Janice keeps his Twitter active, keeps the questions alive, keeps his legacy going.
Looking back at their whole story - from that random meeting in Miami to her fighting governments in Spain - you realize John McAfee's wife became way more than just a spouse. She's basically become the keeper of his legacy, the one questioning everything, the one refusing to let people forget about the mysteries surrounding his death. Whether you believe the conspiracy theories or not, you gotta respect how hard she's fought to keep his story alive.
