Canadian native stablecoin regulatory rules may be delayed until mid to late 2027

BlockBeats news: On May 9, the Bank of Canada said that regulatory rules for Canadian domestic stablecoins may be introduced in mid-2027 or in the second half of 2027. Carolyn Rogers, the Deputy Governor of the Bank of Canada, testified before the Senate, saying that regulatory design work is already underway. She added that the original plan was to launch it in early 2027, but it may be delayed to mid-2027 or in the second half of 2027 due to scheduling issues.
