Director of the National Development and Reform Commission Zheng Shanjie visits Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Laboratory for research

Golden Finance reports that on May 9th, according to the National Development and Reform Commission, recently, Director Zheng Shanjie of the National Development and Reform Commission visited the Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Laboratory to conduct a special investigation into the development of artificial intelligence. Director Zheng Shanjie and his team inspected the construction of the Super Intelligence Fusion Computing Platform, Scientific Intelligence Basic Platform, and other projects on-site, and learned in detail about technological innovations such as large-scale scientific foundational models, domestically produced software and hardware ecosystems, and embodied intelligence. They engaged in in-depth discussions with relevant experts on hot topics such as cutting-edge artificial intelligence technologies, safety governance, and “Artificial Intelligence + Science.”
Zheng Shanjie stated that currently, the development of artificial intelligence technology and industry is advancing rapidly, and efforts should be made with a stronger sense of responsibility and mission. First, strengthen overall planning and top-level design, leverage the advantages of national strategic scientific and technological forces such as national laboratories, reinforce basic research in artificial intelligence, enhance original innovation capabilities, promote key core technology breakthroughs along the entire chain, and proactively explore frontier areas. Second, implement the “Artificial Intelligence +” action according to local conditions, increase openness of scientific intelligence scenarios, collaborate to build national artificial intelligence application pilot bases in scientific fields, and accelerate AI-powered scientific discovery. Third, coordinate development and security, strengthen AI security capacity building, explore governance models and mechanism innovations, and ensure the healthy and orderly development of artificial intelligence.
