According to Reuters, British sprinting star and former world champion Chijindu Ujah has been arrested on suspicion of involvement in a cryptocurrency fraud scheme. He has been granted bail and is set to appear in court for trial on May 28. The UK police said Ujah is suspected of participating in an organized crime group that impersonated police officers and personnel from cryptocurrency companies to lure victims into handing over their wallet mnemonic phrases, thereby stealing funds, with one victim losing approximately $410,000. Ujah previously had his silver medal from the Tokyo Olympics stripped due to doping violations.
