Kimi (The Dark Side of the Moon) is set to complete a new round of $2 billion in financing. After the investment, its valuation will exceed $20 billion. This round is led by Meituan Longzhu, with China Mobile, CPE (CITIC Industrial Fund), and others also participating; among them, Longzhu alone has put in more than $200 million. In January and February this year, Kimi has just completed three rounds of financing in quick succession, raising $500 million, $700 million, and $700 million, respectively. Including this latest round, in less than half a year Kimi has raised more than $3.9 billion, and its latest valuation is more than four times higher than the approximately $4.3 billion recorded in November last year. By this point, Kimi’s cumulative funding has already exceeded 37.6 billion RMB, making it the large-model startup with the highest total funding to date. Including IPO fundraising, MiniMax’s total funding is about 15 billion RMB, and Zhipu’s is about 13 billion RMB. As of the midday market close on May 6, MiniMax’s market capitalization is about 210 billion RMB, and Zhipu’s is about 347 billion RMB. (Finance Net)
