Iranian lawmaker: Oil pollution near Hark Island is actually emissions from European oil tankers

Odaily Planet Daily News reports that according to Iranian sources on the early morning of the 9th, Jafar Pourkabani, a member of the Iranian Islamic Parliament representing Bushehr Province, said that media reports about “Iran releasing oil into the sea due to oil tankers being full” are false and part of enemy psychological warfare. Pourkabani stated that satellite images show oil stains around Khark Island, which are actually caused by residual oil and ballast water discharges from a European oil tanker, and this behavior has caused environmental damage.
