Armed conflict erupts in western Libya, at least 5 people dead

According to Libyan sources, intense armed clashes broke out in the western Libyan city of Zawiya on the 8th, resulting in at least 5 deaths.
The reports say that multiple armed groups were involved in the clashes that occurred early in the morning in the city center of Zawiya and its surrounding areas, causing 5 deaths, including a security guard at the Zawiya refinery.
Zawiya Oil Refining Company issued a statement saying that since early on the 8th, heavy fighting has erupted around its oil facilities, with multiple heavy shells falling within the company’s area.
The company decided to shut down the refinery on the 8th and evacuate the oil tankers in the port. (CCTV News)
