Recently organizing transaction records, I suddenly realized that the most frustrating thing at the end of the year isn't profit or loss, but "which chain I transferred from and to on which day"… My current clumsy method: every time I cross chains or switch wallets, I conveniently note down a line of remarks, tx hash + purpose (like "moved to cold wallet" or "added to a certain protocol"), then at the end of the month, compare the CEX exported table with on-chain explorers, at least to avoid making stories based on memory later.

Hardware wallets have been out of stock lately, and phishing links are abundant, which actually forces me to be more disciplined: I’d rather spend a bit more time white-listing addresses, taking screenshots for records, and storing files on the cloud and locally by month. Honestly, this extra hassle is to save my future self’s life; positions can be diversified, but the ledger shouldn’t be scattered.
