Today I keep seeing a bunch of people staring at “whale addresses moved,” and my hands start itching to follow along… But let’s be honest—first ask: are they building a position, or hedging? Sometimes it looks like buying, but on the other side they open an opposite trade, and the net exposure hasn’t changed. If you follow anyway, it’s like tagging along under someone else’s umbrella—you think it’s going to rain.
Recently, the testnet incentives and points scheme has also been getting everyone worked up. In the group, people guess every day whether the mainnet will actually issue tokens or not. I want to join in too, but I’m more afraid of turning my own position into a joke: playing around with small money for fun is fine, but if you really decide to make a move, write your stop-loss first—don’t let the “whale addresses moved” umbrella shake up your sense of the weather.
