As part of a broader partnership, NVIDIA and IREN also agreed to jointly deploy AI factories based on the NVIDIA DSX architecture. The companies expect that the key site will be the Sweetwater campus in Texas with a capacity of 2 GW. Additionally, IREN granted NVIDIA a five-year right to purchase up to 30 million shares of the company at a price of $70 per share. Thus, NVIDIA can invest up to $2.1 billion subject to regulatory requirements and other conditions of the agreement. NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang stated: "AI factories are becoming the fundamental infrastructure for the global economy. Large-scale deployment of such systems requires deep integration of the entire stack — computing, networks, software, energy, and operational activities. IREN has the necessary scale and infrastructural expertise."
