Just saw that QatarEnergy halted production on a bunch of downstream stuff including aluminum and other products. The thing is, they have this joint venture called Qatalum with Norsk Hydro, so this is gonna affect hydro operations there pretty directly. But here's the weird part - nobody really knows yet what the actual impact on aluminum production will be. Norsk Hydro is basically scrambling to get more details on what this means for them. Stock was up 2.70% at $9.51 on OTC, so maybe hydro investors are betting it won't be too bad? Or just relief it's not worse. Either way, feels like we're all waiting to see how this shakes out for the hydro side of things. Anyone know more about how deep this production halt goes?
