Just caught up on GGG's Q4 earnings and there's some interesting stuff in the numbers. Revenue came in at $593.2M, up 8.1% year-over-year, which beat estimates by about 1.4%. The EPS of $0.77 matched expectations pretty much exactly, so no surprises there.
What caught my eye though is the segment breakdown. Industrial segment crushed it with $284.29M in sales and a massive 71.6% YoY jump. Operating earnings in that division hit $91.89M, also beating the consensus. Contractor segment did okay at $265.46M with 7.5% growth, though operating earnings of $65.02M came in a bit below what analysts were modeling. Expansion Markets was the weak spot, missing on both revenue ($43.4M vs $47.21M expected) and earnings.
GGG shares are up 3.8% over the past month, outperforming the broader market. The stock has a Zacks Rank 3 (Hold), so it's positioned to trade in line with the market going forward. Overall solid execution from GGG, especially in that Industrial division which is clearly driving growth right now.
