US JOBS BEAT EXPECTATIONS AS UNEMPLOYMENT HOLDS AT 4.3%



US nonfarm payrolls rose by 115,000 in April, beating expectations for 55,000, while the unemployment rate held steady at 4.3%.

Private payrolls increased by 123,000, offsetting an 8,000 decline in government jobs. Average hourly earnings rose 0.16% month-over-month and 3.57% from a year earlier.

March payrolls were revised up to +185,000, while February was revised down to -156,000.
