just found out my dog can actually have watermelon but there's a catch lol. the seeds and rind are a no-go apparently—they can cause blockages and choking. so basically you gotta prep it like you're making a fancy snack
the good part is it's super hydrating (92% water) and has vitamins that are actually good for them. my vet mentioned it's perfect for hot days since dogs need extra fluids in summer. just cut it into small pieces, give them a few bites, and see how they react
people keep asking about frozen watermelon too and yeah that works fine, just make sure no seeds or rind sneaks in. also don't give them too much at once or they'll get an upset stomach. basically treat it like an occasional snack, not a meal replacement
anyone else give their dog watermelon? curious if yours actually likes it or just spits it out lol
