Deep Tide TechFlow News, May 8th, U.S. April seasonally adjusted non-farm payrolls increased by 115k, compared to an expected 62k, with the previous figure revised from 178k to 185k. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics: In April, employment in healthcare, transportation and warehousing, and retail sectors increased, while federal government employment continued to decline.

The total non-farm employment for February was revised downward by 23,000, from -133,000 to -156,000; meanwhile, March’s data was revised upward by 7,000, from +178,000 to +185,000. After these adjustments, the combined employment figures for February and March are 16,000 lower than previously reported. After revisions, February’s data appears worse, while March’s data shows slight improvement.
