CoinWorld News reports that the U.S. Department of Justice recently announced that in the past five months, it has sentenced eight individuals supporting North Korean IT workers. These individuals act as agents between American companies and North Korean workers, helping them work remotely. The Department of Justice stated that the two most recent defendants were sentenced to 18 months in prison on May 1 and this week, respectively. The cases involved nearly 70 American companies and are estimated to have generated $1.2 million in revenue for the North Korean government.
