Sichuan: By 2030, the scale of intelligent computing will reach 100 EFLOPS (100 quintillion floating-point operations per second), with intelligent computing accounting for over 85%

Mars Finance News, May 8 — The General Office of the Sichuan Provincial People’s Government issued a notice on printing and distributing the “Implementation Plan for Accelerating the ‘Artificial Intelligence+’ Major Innovation Project in Sichuan Province.” It states that a scientific layout will be established for the construction of large-scale and super-large data centers, with the intelligent computing scale reaching 100 EFlops (hundreds of billions of billions of floating-point operations per second) by 2030, and the proportion of intelligent computing exceeding 85%. The level of all-optical backbone transmission networks within the Tianfu Data Center cluster will be improved. The service capability of the provincial computing power scheduling platform will be continuously enhanced to achieve unified scheduling of computing resources and customized computing product services, promoting the construction of the national integrated computing network as a Chongqing-Chengdu national hub node. Efforts will be organized to advance the pilot project of “source-network-load-storage integration” for computing and power, promoting the integration of computing demand with green power resources. The provincial “computing power voucher” will be expanded, and support will be provided for cities (prefectures) to establish “computing power vouchers,” forming a complementary mechanism between provinces and cities to reduce the cost of enterprise computing power purchases.
